Major Photo-Editing Binge, So let's talk about MELECHESH!

Hails Almighty Legions,

On such a lovely Spring afternoon, I feel absolutely compelled to finish editing some concert shots from a few months ago and highlight some other things that I had kept on neglecting. I refuse to go out and enjoy myself under the sun if I do not finish this stuff.  I am officially done editing the Hate badge (Feel free to check it out) and have moved onto the Great Melechesh (my body shakes from simply writing their name...).

I had been meaning to write about Melechesh since I saw them opening for Rotting Christ at the Mod Club in March of this year, but in all honesty it kept on getting postponed, until today!  Seeing this band LIVE has been the closest thing I can associate with a life-changing experience.

It all started with a few beers and simply watching the other bands perform. There was Lecherous Nocturne (who put on a decent show), followed by Abigail Williams (Veeeeery Boooooring U_U... I have seen these guys a few times but I must say that this was by far their worst performance. I was falling asleep -ZZZzzz-, so to prevent falling on my face, I had to go inhale some nicotine. On a positive note, I did manage to catch some cool shots of their set), The Almighty Hate (I can't get enough of these guys!) and before the big R.C. there was light emanating all the way from the Eastern side of the Mediterranean Sea, which magically got transported to the stage of the Mod Club.

Before I go on and shed my heart here, I will admit, straight up, that before this evening, never had I ever heard of Melechesh (and indeed, I had not lived properly all those years). I had heard of bands that play a similar genre, such as Orphan Land, but Middle Eastern-Influenced Death Metal from Israel was not on my top 5 of obvious things that everyone should know.

Back to the show...

I barely remember when the break in between bands ended, when suddenly and unexpectedly, this powerful  force
practically slapped me across the floor. What I experienced was the closest thing to love at first sight and has remained like that ever since! My first thought of this band: Holy Shit, It's like dancing the dance of the 7 veils but 50 times faster: Just WOW! I remember I was hanging out with some friends, some of which were part of the radical right-wing-let's-hate-on-everyone group. Next thing I knew, I was the only one in the entire venue  dancing to the Rebirth of the Nemesis! It was a beautiful moment that I will never forget. Even though RC put on a wicked show, at the end of the day, the band that I paid to see was Melechesh.

Dear Melechesh: Let's hope our paths meet sooner than later, so I can get my dancing on again :) In the meantime, I will settle for the following video and for the photos that I took at the concert, which I hope to finish editing this week for your viewing pleasure.
